Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for an estimate?
Estimates are free — the estimator comes out, looks at the site, and gives you the exact price before any work.
How much to pave my driveway?
It depends on the size, thickness, and prep, so the estimator measures on site and gives you the exact price up front — and the estimate is free.
How soon can you do it / how fast?
We can usually come out to look soon, and the estimator will give you a clear timeline for the work along with the exact price.
My driveway is cracking / crumbling — can it be saved?
Often yes — the estimator will look at the condition and tell you whether repair, resurfacing, or replacement makes the most sense, with the exact price for each option.
Do you fix potholes?
Yes, we patch potholes and damaged areas — the estimator will assess it and give you the exact price to get it repaired.
Do you do sealcoating and how often?
Yes — sealcoating protects your asphalt and is usually done every couple of years. The estimator can look at yours and recommend the timing, with the exact price.
Do you do parking lots / commercial?
Yes, we handle commercial parking lots including striping and ADA markings, as well as home driveways. Let's get an estimator out to measure.
Can you pave over gravel or my old driveway?
Sometimes, depending on what's there and its condition — the estimator will check the base and let you know the best approach and the exact price.
How long before I can drive on it?
New asphalt needs some time to cure before you drive on it, and it stays soft in heat for a while — the crew will give you exact timing so it sets up right.
Do you handle drainage / water pooling?
Yes — proper grading and drainage are a big part of a lasting job. The estimator will look at where water collects and factor it into the plan and price.
What's your warranty / guarantee?
We stand behind our work — the estimator will go over the exact warranty for your project when he's out.
What time of year is best to pave?
Paving works best in warmer, dry weather so the asphalt sets up properly — the estimator can advise on timing for your area and get you scheduled.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll grab your address and set up a free estimate.
Do you offer financing?
Good question — we sometimes have options for larger projects; let me have the office confirm the current financing and go over it with you.
⚠️ Safety first
- Injury at an active paving site or from hot asphalt: If someone's been burned or hurt, please call 911 right away — fresh asphalt and equipment are very hot. Once everyone's safe, we can sort out the work.
- Kids or pets near fresh, uncured asphalt or wet sealcoat: Please keep kids and pets off the new surface until it's had time to cure — it can be soft and hot at first, and wet sealcoat is slippery. The crew will let you know exactly when it's ready.
- Large pothole creating a trip or vehicle hazard on a lot: Thanks for flagging that — a deep pothole can be a real trip or vehicle hazard, so it's worth coning off for now. We'll get out to look and give you the exact price to repair it.
- Sealcoat or fumes concern: That's a fair question — sealcoat has an odor while it dries and it's best to keep the area ventilated and stay off it until it cures. The crew will walk you through the timing.
Know the terms
- Sealcoating
- A protective coating applied over asphalt to shield it from sun, water, and oil and extend its life.
- Overlay / resurfacing
- Adding a new layer of asphalt over the existing surface when the base is still sound.
- Milling
- Grinding off the top layer of old asphalt so a fresh layer can be paved to the right height.
- Sub-base / compaction
- The compacted stone and soil under the asphalt; proper compaction is what makes paving last.
- Alligator cracking
- A scaly, interconnected cracking pattern that often points to a failing base underneath.
