Frequently asked questions
How much does carpet cost / do you charge for an estimate?
Estimates are free — a specialist measures and shows you options, then gives you the exact price up front. It depends on the carpet and pad you choose and the square footage.
How soon can you install / how long is the wait?
We can usually get out to measure quickly; most carpet is ordered after that, so install follows in a few days to a couple of weeks — we'll give you a clear timeline.
Do you sell the carpet too?
Yes, the specialist brings carpet and padding options and samples to your home so you can see them in your own light, and gives you a free quote.
Do you install and replace carpet?
We install and replace carpet for a single room or the whole house, and we remove and haul away the old carpet. We'll come measure and quote it free.
My carpet is wrinkled / buckling
That usually just needs restretching — please watch your step on it meanwhile, and we'll get someone out to pull it tight again and quote it for you.
Can you patch or repair a damaged spot?
We repair and patch carpet — a matching remnant works best, so if you have leftover carpet hang onto it. The specialist will look and let you know your options.
My seams are coming apart
We re-seam and re-secure lifting carpet — the specialist will take a look and get it back down cleanly.
Do you do stairs or runners?
Yes, we do carpet on stairs and runners — it's a bit specialized and we do it all the time. We'll measure and give you a free quote.
Do I need new padding?
The pad makes a big difference in comfort and how long the carpet lasts, and we'll help you pick the right one — it's included in your quote.
Can you do it by a certain date?
We can work with your date — let me know when you need it done and we'll do our best to line up the measure and install in time.
Do you move the furniture?
We can move the furniture as part of the job — just let the specialist know and we'll factor it in.
Do you do Berber or carpet tile?
Yes, we install Berber and carpet tile as well as standard carpet — the specialist will go over what fits your space and budget.
Do you do commercial carpet?
Yes, we do commercial carpet and carpet tile as well as homes — tell me about the space and we'll get you scheduled.
What's your warranty?
Carpet and installation usually come with warranties — the specialist will go over the exact coverage on what you choose.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll grab your address and set up a free in-home measure.
⚠️ Safety first
- Loose, rippled, or lifting carpet that's a trip hazard, especially on stairs: That loose carpet can be a trip hazard, especially on stairs — please be careful walking on it and keep an eye on anyone unsteady until we can restretch it. We'll get someone out to take care of it.
- Tack strips or exposed nails where old carpet was pulled up: Please keep bare feet, kids, and pets away from those exposed tack strips — the little nails are sharp. Cover the area if you can, and we'll get it handled when we install.
- Carpet is wet or came up after a leak: If the carpet got wet, it's best not to walk on it much, and if there's any outlet in standing water stay clear of it. Let us know how wet it is and we'll figure out the right next step.
- Mold or musty smell under old carpet: If there's a musty smell or you see discoloration under the carpet, keep the area ventilated and limit time there for anyone sensitive, and the specialist will assess it when we measure.
Know the terms
- Pad / cushion
- The layer under the carpet that adds comfort and extends its life; the right one is often required by the warranty.
- Power-stretching
- Stretching the carpet tight with a proper tool so it won't wrinkle or buckle later.
- Tack strip
- The thin nailed strip around the room edge that grips and holds the carpet.
- Seam
- Where two pieces of carpet join; good planning keeps seams out of sight and traffic.
- Berber / loop
- A looped carpet style, durable but prone to snags and runs if a loop catches.
- Remnant
- Leftover carpet used to patch a matching repair or cover a small area.
