Common problems we handle

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for an estimate / to come measure?
Estimates are completely free — we come measure and give you the exact price before any work is done.
How much does a fence cost / per foot?
It depends on the material, the length, and the ground, so we measure on site and give you the exact price up front — and the estimate is free.
How soon can you install / come look?
We schedule free measures quickly, and we'll talk timeline for the install once we've seen the run — I'll find a time that works for you.
What fence materials do you offer?
We install all the main types — wood, vinyl, chain-link, aluminum, wrought iron, and composite — and we can help you pick what fits your yard, style, and budget.
Can you repair a leaning or damaged fence?
Absolutely — we do repairs from a single post or section to storm damage, and we'll match your existing fence as closely as we can.
A storm / tree damaged my fence
I'm sorry to hear that — if anything heavy is resting on it or there are wires nearby, please keep clear, and we'll get someone out to assess and repair it.
My gate won't close or latch
We fix gates all the time — the technician will get it closing and latching right again, and give you the price up front.
Do you do automatic / electric gates?
Yes, we install and service automatic gates and openers — we'll come look at your driveway and give you a free estimate.
Do you do pool fences / safety fences?
We do — pool fences have safety and code requirements, and we'll make sure yours meets them. If there are young kids around an open pool, please keep it supervised until the barrier's up.
Do you handle permits / property lines?
We're familiar with permits and setbacks, and we'll talk through your property line so the fence goes in the right spot — for the exact line, a survey is the sure way, and we can advise on that.
Do you stain or seal fences?
Yes, we stain and seal wood fences to protect them and keep them looking good — the technician can go over the options and price.
Do you do farm / ranch / large properties?
We do — from farm and ranch fencing to commercial properties. Tell me a little about the property and we'll set up a measure.
What's your warranty / guarantee?
We stand behind our work — the crew will go over the exact warranty on materials and labor when they give you the estimate.
Do you service my area?
We're local and cover your area — I'll just grab your address and set up a free measure.

⚠️ Safety first

Know the terms

Post setting
Digging and anchoring the posts, usually in concrete below the frost line so they don't shift or heave.
Frost line
How deep the ground freezes locally; posts go below it so winter doesn't push them up.
Linear foot
How fencing is measured and priced — the length of the run, not the area.
Privacy fence
A solid fence, usually 6 feet, with no gaps, for privacy and wind/sound blocking.
Pool-barrier code
Local rules for pool fence height, gaps, and self-latching gates to keep children safe.
Setback / property line
How far from the boundary a fence must sit; getting this right avoids disputes and permit issues.
