Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for an inspection / estimate?
The inspection is completely free — a foundation specialist evaluates your home on site and gives you the exact price before any work is done.
How much does foundation repair cost?
It really depends on what your home needs and the soil conditions, so the specialist evaluates it in person and gives you an exact price up front — and the inspection is free.
Is a crack in my wall / foundation serious?
Cracks can be anything from cosmetic to structural, so it's really best to have the specialist take a look and tell you exactly what's going on — that evaluation is free.
My doors and windows are sticking / floors are uneven
Those are worth having checked — the specialist will do a proper evaluation, including measuring the floor levels, and go over exactly what they find and the options.
My basement wall is bowing / leaning in
I understand that's concerning — please keep weight and people away from that wall, and we'll get a specialist out to evaluate it as a priority.
I have water in my basement / crawl space
We handle that — waterproofing, drainage, and sump pumps are a big part of what we do. The specialist will find the best way to keep it dry and give you the exact price.
Can you fix a sunken driveway / patio / slab?
Yes — we can often raise a sunken slab, driveway, or patio back into place. The specialist will look at it and let you know the best method and the price up front.
How long does foundation repair take?
It depends on the scope — some repairs are a day or two, larger stabilizations take longer. The specialist will give you a clear timeline once they've evaluated it.
Do you use / install piers?
Yes, we install helical and push piers when a foundation needs that kind of support — the specialist will determine what's right for your home and explain it clearly.
Do you work with a structural engineer?
Yes — for structural work we involve or coordinate with a structural engineer so the repair is done right, and the specialist will explain how that works for your situation.
What's your warranty?
We stand behind our work, and many of our repairs carry a strong, often transferable warranty — the specialist will go over the exact coverage with you.
Do you offer financing?
That's a good question — let me have the office confirm the current financing and payment options and we'll go over them with you.
Do you do commercial buildings?
Yes, we handle commercial foundations as well as homes — the specialist will evaluate the building and give you the exact scope and price.
Do you service my area?
We cover your area — I'll grab your address and get a specialist out for a free evaluation.
⚠️ Safety first
- Basement or retaining wall bowing/cracking badly or the structure feels unsafe: Please keep people and pets away from that wall and don't store weight against it — if it's moving quickly, treat it as urgent. I'll mark this a priority and get a specialist out to assess it right away.
- Sudden large crack, a shifting floor, or part of the structure dropping: For your safety, please stay out of that area until it's looked at. If anyone feels the building is unsafe to be in, step outside — we'll get a specialist to you as a priority.
- Water flooding the basement near the electrical panel or outlets: Please stay away from any standing water near outlets or the electrical panel and keep the power off to that area if it's safe to do so. We'll get someone out to address the water, and if it's rising fast you may want emergency water cleanup too.
- Gas smell near a shifting foundation (line could be stressed): If you smell gas, leave the home right now, don't flip any switches, and call 911 or your gas company from outside. Once it's safe, call us back and we'll assess the foundation.
Know the terms
- Settlement
- When part of the home sinks because the soil beneath it moved or compressed.
- Helical / push pier
- Steel piers driven deep to stable soil to support and lift a settling foundation.
- Slab jacking / mudjacking
- Raising a sunken concrete slab by pumping grout or foam underneath it.
- Bowing wall
- A basement wall pushed inward by soil pressure; braced with straps, anchors, or beams.
- Encapsulation
- Sealing a crawl space with a vapor barrier and often a dehumidifier to control moisture.
- Underpinning
- Strengthening or deepening an existing foundation to support the structure.
