Frequently asked questions
Do you charge for a consultation / estimate?
The consultation and estimate are free — our project manager meets you, understands what you want, and provides a detailed price before any work begins.
How much will my project cost?
It really depends on the scope and finishes, which can swing the price a lot, so we meet with you and put together a detailed, exact estimate — and that consultation is free.
How long will the project take?
It depends on the size and scope, and the project manager will give you a realistic timeline in the estimate once they understand the project.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — we're licensed and insured, and the project manager can go over all of that with you when you meet.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes, we handle permit coordination and inspections and build to code, so you don't have to navigate that yourself.
Do you do the design too, or do I need an architect?
We offer design-build, so we can handle the design and drawings in-house, or work from plans you already have — whatever fits your project best.
Can you do additions and ADUs?
Absolutely — additions and ADUs are a big part of what we do. The project manager will look at your property and go over what's possible and the exact cost.
Do you do kitchen and bathroom remodels?
Yes, kitchens and baths are among our most common projects — the project manager will talk through your vision and give you a detailed estimate.
Do you repair fire or water damage?
Yes — we handle fire and water damage rebuilds and can work with your insurance. If the area isn't safe yet, please stay out until it's cleared, and we'll take it from there.
Can you finish a project another contractor left?
We can — take-over projects come up more than you'd think. The project manager will assess where it stands, what's left, and give you a clear plan and price to finish it right.
Can I live in the house during the work?
In many cases, yes — we protect the areas you're using and keep the site clean. The project manager will walk you through what to expect for your specific project.
What's your warranty?
We stand behind our work with a warranty — the project manager will go over exactly what's covered when you meet.
Do you offer financing?
That's a good question — let me have the office confirm the current financing and payment schedule options and we'll go over them with you.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes, we handle commercial projects and tenant improvements as well as homes — just let us know the space and what you have in mind.
Do you service my area?
We cover your area — I'll grab your address and set up a free consultation with a project manager.
⚠️ Safety first
- Active flooding or water pouring into the home: Let's protect the home first — if you can, shut off the water at the main and keep away from any water near outlets or the panel. If it's a lot of water, you may want emergency water cleanup right away, and we'll get a project manager to you to handle the repairs.
- Fire damage where the home hasn't been cleared as safe: Please don't go into the fire-damaged areas until the fire department has cleared them as safe — smoke and structure can be dangerous. Once it's cleared, we'll come assess the rebuild and can work with your insurance.
- Sagging ceiling, cracking, or a structure that feels unsafe: Please keep people out from under that area and treat it as urgent — I'll get our project manager out as a priority to assess it and make it safe before any other work.
- Gas smell during a remodel or after a leak: If you smell gas, leave the home right away, don't touch any switches, and call 911 or your gas company from outside. Once it's safe, we'll continue with the project.
Know the terms
- General contractor
