Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for an estimate?
Estimates for a new install are free — the technician sizes the right system and gives you the exact price before any work. For service on an existing unit there may be a small service-call fee, which we'll tell you up front.
How much does a whole-house generator cost?
It depends on the size you need and your fuel and setup, so the technician does a load calculation and gives you an exact price up front — and that install estimate is free.
How soon can you come / my generator is down
If your unit is down we treat that as urgent and offer same-day service — I'll get a technician headed your way, especially if your power is out right now.
My generator won't start
Let's get that looked at — there are a few things it could be, and the technician will find out why and get it running. If your power's out, we'll prioritize you.
The power went out but my generator didn't turn on
I understand how stressful that is during an outage — the technician will check the whole system, including the transfer switch, and get it working right. We can prioritize this for you.
What size generator do I need?
Great question — that depends on what you want to run, so the technician does a load calculation to size it right, whether that's a few essentials or the whole home. It's part of the free install estimate.
Do you service my brand / Generac, Kohler, Cummins?
Yes, we install and service all the major brands — Generac, Kohler, Cummins, and the rest — so whatever you have or want, we can help.
Do you install the transfer switch too?
Yes — the transfer switch is a key part of a safe install, and we handle it as part of the job so your generator connects properly and automatically.
Do you do maintenance / annual service?
Yes, regular maintenance keeps your generator ready for when you actually need it — we do tune-ups, batteries, and full service, and can set you up on a plan.
Natural gas, propane, or gasoline — which do you install?
We work with natural gas and propane standby units and gasoline portables — the technician will go over which fuel makes the most sense for your home and hook it up properly.
Do you handle permits?
Yes, standby generator installs need permits and inspection, and we handle all of that and install to code so it's done right.
Can I run it in my garage during an outage?
Please never run a generator in a garage or indoors — the exhaust has carbon monoxide that can be deadly. It has to run outside, away from windows and doors. We can help you set it up safely.
What's your warranty?
We stand behind our installs, and the units carry a manufacturer warranty too — the technician will go over the exact coverage with you.
Do you do commercial generators?
Yes, we install and service commercial generators as well as residential, including load-bank testing, so your business stays powered.
Do you service my area?
We cover your area — I'll grab your address and get a technician headed your way.
