Common problems we handle

Frequently asked questions

How much does sod cost?
It depends on the grass type and how much you need, so we go over the square footage and give you the exact price before delivery — and the quote is free.
How much sod do I need?
Happy to help figure that out — if you can tell me the rough length and width of the area, I can help estimate it, or we can come measure. That way you order just the right amount.
What kind of grass should I get?
Great question — the best type depends on your area and how much sun or shade you have. Tell me if it's mostly sun or shade and we'll match you with the right variety for your yard.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver by the roll or pallet. Since fresh sod is best laid right away, we'll time the delivery to when you're ready to install it.
Do you install it, or just deliver?
We can do either — full installation, or just deliver it for you to lay. Let me know which you'd prefer and I'll get it set up.
How do I take care of new sod / watering?
The main thing is to water it deeply every day for the first couple of weeks while it roots, then taper off — we'll give you simple, full instructions with your order.
My new sod is turning brown
I understand the worry — new sod can go through changes as it roots. Tell me how long ago it was laid and how it's being watered, and we'll help you get it back on track.
Do you prep the ground / remove old grass?
Yes, we can clear and prep the ground, add topsoil, and haul away the old grass so the new sod has a healthy base. We'll include that in your quote.
Do you sell topsoil, seed, or fertilizer?
Yes, we supply topsoil, grass seed, and fertilizer too. Let me know what you're working on and I'll get you set up.
Do you sell to landscapers / contractors / wholesale?
Absolutely — we supply landscapers and contractors with bulk and big-roll sod. Let me get your details and set up your order.
When is the best time to lay sod?
Sod can go down through much of the year in most areas, though spring and fall are ideal. Tell me your grass type and we'll pick the best timing for you.
How fresh is the sod?
We cut sod to order so it's fresh, and we time delivery close to when you'll lay it — fresh sod roots best, so that timing really matters.
Do you offer financing / payment options?
Let me have the office confirm the current payment options for your order size and we'll go over them with you.
Do you deliver to my area?
We're local and deliver to your area — I'll grab your address so we can confirm delivery and timing.
